Facebook Retargeting: How To Improve Custom Audience Quality With Google Tag Manager…
One of the best ways to leverage your website traffic on Facebook is to build custom audiences for retargeting your visitors back to your website. Warm traffic like his that has already had some kind of experience with you are far more likely to convert than new visitors that are experiencing your content or offer for the first time.
Now, not all visitors are created equal, what if you could actually build Facebook retargeting audiences based on how long a visitor has been on your page?
This is a great method for many types of pages such as; a blog post, product pages, long copy sales pages, VSL (Video Salesletter) pages and more. People who spend more time on the page consuming your content are more valuable to you and convert at a higher conversion rate.
In this video, we walk through how to actually use Facebook Standard Events with Google Tag Manager using the Timer function to build custom audiences on Facebook based on how long a person has been on your page. Plus, you can actually build multiple audiences on the same page based on how long they stay on the page.
In the example in the video, we set it up to build audiences for 5 seconds, 15 seconds and 30 seconds. With these changes to your website, you will be able to retarget people across your site that have spent at least a certain amount of time on any webpage, or on specific pages.
